About Binh Thuan
Binh Thuan Railway Station is located 12 km by road to the North of the Provincial capital, Phan Thiet. The main railway line from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi passes through the very Northern edge of Binh Thuan hence the slightly inconvenient location of the province’s major railway station. Taxis and local bus services ply the route between Bing Thuan Railway Station and Phan Thiet making it fairly easy to travel throughout the province once you disembark from the train.
Phan Thiet is a medium sized city of around 300,000 people with good facilities for foreign visitors. To the South of the city there are some moderately good beaches and one major historical attraction, the 9th Century Poshanu Cham Towers. Many visitors to Binh Thuan Province, however, only ever pass through the city of Phan Thiet on route to the popular coastal areas to the East of the city, which are often collectively referred to as ‘Mui Ne’.

Mui Ne is small coastal fishing village located 27 km from Phan Thiet. Mui Ne’s most notable features are it’s fish harbour, it’s lively market, and the fish restaurants around the harbour. More popular than Mui Ne Village are the areas between Mui Ne and Phan Thiet on the coastal Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street. Much of the length of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street is lined with hotels, restaurants and bars.
This stretch of coastline has long sandy beaches which are very good for wind surfing and kite surfing. Indeed, the area is considered second only to Boracay in the Philippines for kite surfing, and lots of watersports enthusiasts come to Bing Thuan Province for that reason. The busiest part of the coastine in Binh Thuan is near the village of Ham Tien which is adjacent to the 10 km long Rang Beach and around 20 minutes by road from Phan Thiet.
