Beaches in Da Nang

Da Nang is a city with an abundance of beaches, so many in fact it’s a mystery why Nha Trang is the best known beach resort town in Vietnam rather than Da Nang, which has more beaches and a much more exciting city centre. There are beaches to the west, north and east of Da Nang. The most popular beaches are to the east of Da Nang city on a 30 km stretch of coast line. This 30 km long beach is sometimes simply referred to My Khe beach, or sometimes referred to as a series of beaches starting with My Khe Beach then Non Nuoc Beach and onto Bac My An Beach. The stretch of beach known as Non Nuoc Beach is generally considered to be the most picturesque part of the beach, and it has some very good beach hotels such as the Meli√° Danang Beach Resort.

To the north of Da Nang there are some smaller and less busy beaches on the Son Tra Peninsula. The most developed of the beaches on the Son Tra Peninsula is the Bai Bac Beach behind which is the luxurious InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. For a quieter alternative on the Son Tra Peninsula try Tien Sa Beach on the western side of the peninsula. To the west of Da Nang there are several more beaches that are easier to get to but generally considered not as good. The 1 km long Thanh Binh Beach is very close to Da Nang Railway Station and features lots of restaurants and hotels. It is a scenic and easily accessible spot to stay at or to go for a meal, but perhaps a less enjoyable place for a day of sunbathing and swimming than the beaches to the east of Da Nang city centre.
