About Phan Rang – Thap Cham

Phan Rang – Thap Cham is a large town with around 160,000 permanent residents. It encompasses what were previously the separate towns of Thap Cham and Pang Rang. The mainline railway station is located in Thap Cham. The only point of interest for tourists in Thap Cham is an impressive hilltop temple. There’s little in the way of tourist accommodation in Thap Cham.

Phan Rang, on the other hand, has lots of hotels and restaurants lining its city centre beach, which is called Phan Rang Beach. By road Phan Rang Beach is 6 km from Thap Cham Railway Station and visitors arriving by train will more than likely need to take a taxi to reach their hotel.

Phan Rang is developing quickly, with a number of high rise hotels and holiday apartment buildings overlooking the beach. Not so many foreign visitors come to Phan Rang – Thap Cham so there are few places catering specifically to foreign tourists. In this respect it’s a very different type of holiday destination to Nha Trang which some visitors will like and others not.
