Thap Cham Railway Station is located in the western half of the city of Phan Rang – Thap Cham. The railway station is located 11 km by road from the city centre beach, but within walking distance of the most famous tourist attraction in the area.

Tourism in Phan Rang – Thap Cham

The city centre beach in Phan Rang – Thap Cham is 4.5 km long, contained within a gently curving bay backed by low hills. It’s an attractive beach, and one which is popular with Vietnamese tourists. It’s popular in part because it’s closer to Ho Chi Minh City than Nha Trang, and partly because it’s less busy and cheaper than better known destinations such as beaches in Phan Thiet.

Constructed in the 13th Century, Po Klong Garai Temple is one of the last major temples built by the Cham Empire. By that time the Cham Empire was coming to the end of a period of around one millennia when they were the dominant group in Southern Vietnam. and for a period large parts of what is now Cambodia.

Po Ro Me Cham Tower

Po Ro Me Cham Tower is another Cham temple, smaller than Po Klong Garai Temple and further away. It’s a 16 km journey from Thap Cham Railway Station to reach Po Ro Me Cham Tower.

The main point of interest at the Po Ro Me Cham Tower is the engraving of King Po Ro Me, who was the very last king of an independent Cham state.
