About Travel to Binh Thuan
The coastal parts of Binh Thuan Province are popular with both Vietnamese and foreign holiday makers. The windy conditions on the coast also make Binh Thuan one of the best places in Asia for kite surfing and wind surfing, and the area attracts lots of water sports enthusiasts.
Arrival in Binh Thuan
Binh Thuan Railway Station is located 12 km by road to the north east of Phan Thiet, which is the provincial capital. If you plan to travel by public transport to your final destination then you are likely to first need to take a bus into Phan Thiet City and then take another bus to complete your journey.
Taxis do operate from Binh Thuan Railway Station, although they generally won’t use a meter so you need to negotiate a price for the journey before you get into the taxi. Some travellers choose to take a taxi only as far as Phan Thiet City and then switch to cheaper bus services.
Where to Stay in Binh Thuan
Phan Thiet City itself tends not to be where most foreign visitors to the area choose to stay. There are hotels and restaurants near the beach, but they tend to cater more for Vietnamese holidaymakers than for foreign travellers.
Where most international tourists head towards is the beautiful stretch of coastline running east from Phan Thiet City 27 km by road to Mui Ne Village. Long stretches of the coastline feature white sand beaches and there are hotels and resorts dotted along the sea front road to Mui Ne Village. The central part of this stretch of coastline, around the village of Ham Tien and the 10 km Rang Beach, tends to be the most popular.
