About Travel to Ninh Binh
Ninh Binh Province has plenty of first class attractions for visitors. The most popular of these attractions is the Tràng An Scenic Landscape Complex. The Tràng An Scenic Landscape Complex is a 62 square kilometre protected area which has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status. The Tràng An Scenic Landscape Complex is notable for featuring a series of steep limestone hills, similar to the steep sided islands in Ha Long Bay but on land, with long deep caves. A popular activity within the Tràng An Scenic Landscape Complex is to take boat ride into the caves at either the Tam Cốc Bích Động valley or the slightly less busy Trang An Grottoes. Also, significant sections of the movie Kong: Skull Island where filmed in the Tràng An Scenic Landscape Complex and boat tours to see the filming locations are available.

Ninh Binh’s other two main attractions are Bai Dinh Pagoda and Phat Diem Cathedral. Phat Diem Cathedral is a striking cathedral constructed in the 19th Century. Phat Diem Cathedral is unique in its blend of European and Vietnamese design styles and in this respect Phat Diem Cathedral is quite unlike any other christian church. Bai Dinh Pagoda covers an area of around 700 hectares making it one of the largest temple complexes in South East Asia. The original temple is near to a much larger and newer series of buildings and statues which have been developed since 2003. The complex is a project still under construction which likely to take several decades to complete. The notable structures built so far include a 22 metre tall bell tower, 13 storey pagoda and massive Chinese style prayer hall. There are also 500 statues of the Lord Buddha grouped together.
